TO YOUR COMMUNITY THEATRE
Wagnalls
Family Theatre (WFT) provides a space for families, of
all kinds, to come together for the purpose of learning
about and enjoying the art of drama. Throughout the
year, WFT provides many opportunities for experiencing
quality theatre. We offer children and adult’s theatre
classes and various productions for the community
members of all ages to participate as actor, audience
member or volunteer.
WFT is a
part of the Wagnalls Memorial Foundation whose core
purpose is to enrich lives. Wagnalls Memorial offers a
cultural center, library, gallery, and theatre with many
kinds of opportunities and activities.

Children’s Theatre Classes
Pre-Register now for Children’s Spring Theatre Classes.
Spaces in
each class are limited. We are asking that everyone
pre-register. Classes are $40.00 each, or $30.00 for
each additional child per family.

We
have classes for a variety of actors.

Classes
will take place every Saturday beginning April 19th
through May 31st with an educational performance May
31st at 7pm.

Fairy
Tale Flips
The evil Cinderella? A good pirate? We
will use theatre games and storybook characters to begin
a study in acting and the theatre. As a class, the
children will compose and perform in their very own
fairy tale for the final class session. This class is
offered from 10am to 12pm for ages 5 - 8 for those who
have not yet taken an acting class.

Shakespeare Comedy for Kids
Did you know that Shakespeare made up thousands of
words? In this class we will use theatre games and
improvisations to learn about the Bard's (another word
for Shakespeare) Comedies. The class will present
abridged scenes from A Midsummer Night's Dream
for the final class. This class is offered from 1pm -
3pm for children ages 5 - 8 who have previously taken
acting classes.

Introduction to Acting
This class is offered from 1pm to 3pm for children
ages 9 and up who have not yet taken an acting class.
Your child will be learning stage direction, story
elements and fundamentals of the stage through acting
exercises, improvisational games, and scene work.
Performance will include a class chosen script.

Classical Ensemble
This class is offered from 10am to 12pm for children
ages 9 and up who have previously taken acting classes.
We will analyze and perform a classical script. Your
child will learn stylistic stage movement along with the
impact of team connection from an ensemble piece.
Price
for classes: $40.00 (each additional child in family
will be $30.00)

Award
winning playwright Joseph Robinette, faithfully
recreates the wonderful world of CS Lewis’ Narnia. This
is a heroic tale of love, faith, courage and giving: the
life and death struggle for control of Narnia and the
grandeur of the triumph of good over evil which has
enthralled audiences of all ages.
The play
is suited for audience members of all ages. If you would

DIRECTOR PROFILE –
Aaron Leu 
Wagnalls
Family Theatre welcomes Aaron Leu to the role of
Director for our next production: The Lion, The
Witch, and The Wardrobe. Aaron brings to us over 15
years of theatrical experience ranging from acting
roles, technical involvement, Musical theatre and more.
A self described “theatre junkie”, Aaron is also a free
lance visual artist who prides himself on transitioning
the visual to the stage and helping actors express the
child within in their roles. A summa cum laude graduate
of Taylor University, Aaron has also trained with
Baldwin Wallace Summer Musical Theatre. Wright State
University Summer Theatre, and Wesley Institute in
Sydney, Australia. A proven leader with many leadership
projects under his belt, Aaron is excited about his role
as Director for this production. “My goal is to present
the most professional show possible while encouraging
cast and crew alike in the talents they possess. As the
cast steps into the world of Narnia, I would hope that
their eyes would be open to the child within each of
them and that their hearts would be profoundly

Coming Soon! New Adult Theatre Classes This Summer!
Acting 101
for Teens-Ages 16-19
June 14, 21, 28. (Three Sat.) 12-4pm.
Material is designed to assist pre-college students who
might consider a major or minor in Theatre. The class
will focus on scene work, character analysis, auditions,
and stage movement to better prepare for the college
experience. Prerequisite: an interest in pursuing
Theatre classes in college.
Instructor: Tina Gleason
CLASS FEE: 50.00 per person
Adult
Audition Workshop- Ages 18-up
June 14th (One Sat.) 10am-5pm.
The first part of this Workshop will include a basic
overview of theatre terms and techniques. The second
part of the day will explore several scripts taken from
the 2008-2009 seasons in the Columbus area. Class
participants will explore improvisational techniques,
script analysis, character analysis, movement and vocal
work in an effort to work on audition techniques. The
final part of the day will include a mock audition.
Three directors from the Columbus area will be studied
during the Workshop. Lunch provided.
Prerequisite: None

Improvisation for Adults- ages 18-up
June 8, 15, 22, 29 (Four Sundays) 1-3pm
Are you a “Whose Line is it Anyway?” junkie? Were you
the Class Clown? An actor trying to hone your skills? An
executive wanting to strengthen your team’s skills to
work together? Come study and strengthen your skills at
IMPROV! Learn the basics of improv and then take the
ball and run with it! The class includes the basics of
improv, improv games, character study through improv,
team strengthening through improv, body language and
lots of laughs! Life is an improv! What’s your next
line?
